Vamp consists of a solar-powered Theremin†. Museum visitors, sea gulls and maybe even palm fronds can activate the electronic instrument, serenading the Pacific Ocean (or the surfers changing out of their wetsuits on nearby Coast Boulevard).
† n. a musical instrument with electronic tone generation, the pitch and tone volume being controlled by the distance between the player’s hands and two metal rods serving as antenna. [Named after Léon Theremin (b. 1896), Russian inventor]
